I think this could be representative of INFJ (also probably a little INFJ Shadow-perhaps sexual excess). Amazing song either way. Good topic Indigo.

Yeah well I think that he's being critical of withering his intuition and critical of overthinking and overanalysing.
It dont think hes proposing this, but rather hes says that IF he overthinks he loses the trait of intuition. Thats what Keenan said about his song in an interview as well. The separating the body from the mind is presented as a bad thing, as it disrupts the wholeness of the human being. Reaching out to embrace the random is the trait of an intuitive person, not a planning or a thinking one. Rythm, inspiration, feeling... All these connect to the intuitive type.
His desire to return to "rythm and inspiration" proves his desire to return to his intuitive tendencies, although its obvious that at some point he has diminished them due to overthinking certain issues, or about life whatsoever. Or at least thats my interpretation of the song and thats why I posted it.

Your approach is a very interesting one. It is a song after all, and there are many approaches in art. Thats what I think
at least.

Edit: I don't think I made clear what I mean. I'll try and rephrase the chorus in order to explain whay I'm saying the above:
'By Overthinkng, overanalysing, I'm separating my body from my mind, and I'm withering my intuition."
You take it as a statement that someone should pursue, while I take it as a critical statement. Thats the difference in our interpretations.

Two songs in this list hit me the hardest:

Ilya - "Blatchford"

I felt resonance with my Fe discomfort with where I (and others) place in the social structure and then an Ni consideration deconstructing the framework and questioning it's value.

Tool - "Lateralus"

So much resonance I was emotionally overwhelmed. PsilocinProject, I observed in your comments what may be some misunderstandings regarding typology.

1. INFJ's are dominant Ni. Which means intuitive perceiving as the dominant experience.

2. INTP's and INFP's are dominant Fi. Which means feeling or thinking judgment as the dominant experience.

3. The INFJ tertiary function is Ti, or introverted thinking. It is very common for an INFJ to draw on logical thinking styles to augment their functioning in the world, but not being the dominant or auxillary cognitive style, it is often a tactic that feels a little at war with the truer nature.

So, the lyrics "Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition" to me seem a poetic expression of an INFJ's tertiary temptation and it's consequences as described here:

4. An INFJ's inferior function is Se, which is a sensing perception and is very much about embracing the moment and whatever may come. I've become a huge fan of Jason Morant. But I have to admit, song chords and the sound flavors intrigue me first...then I usually check the lyrics (it's the music first and then the lyrics). Music resonates on a really deep level for me, in a way I can't quite describe - and certain songs can literally transport me. Funny enough, the songs that transport me are usually really "deep" songs, too.

This is one of those deep songs for me.

Beethoven was most certainly, I believe, an INTJ. But I also believe that INFJ feel Moonlight Sonata very strongly. INTJs can be very passionate, and just this type of emotion feels kind of typical for an INTJ. :P

I on the other hand believe that Brahms was an INFJ, listen to this:

It feels introverted, every picture of him walking around shows him with his hands on his back philosophizing, it has to be intuition. It is just to vague and the rhythm and composition is too stretched out to be an S. An F speaks for itself, the piece just breathes comforting emotion!
He was an INFP or INFJ, but I think only an INFJ can have this kind of philosophy in their works. It just breathes eF in a way.

I also want him to be an INFJ cause he's my god and my hero :P But aside from that I am pretty certain he was an INFJ.

Anyway, the entire piece "variations on a theme by haydn" is as near perfection I've ever heard. The entire piece just flows perfectly. Give it a try and really try to grasp the entire schwing of the piece and everything (and if you're not into classic, it can be pretty hard work.)

Sorry for the long post, but i REALLY would like to hear what other INFJs has to say about Brahms. He just makes me.. feel stuff I didn't even know existed. If you take Moonligt sonata as an example, it is a more tangible and solid feeling, very strong of course, but Brahms invites you to the open sea during a storm and never lets you rest!

Seconded. That is such a beautiful, and yet haunting, song.

I remember that, in one of his letters to his brother, Theo, Vincent said that he 'hoped to offer consolation to the harshness of humanity through art'. There really could not have been a better person to do that.

I haven't analyzed Sam Beam's lyrics enough to determine whether he's an INFJ or not, but he has such a way with words that I find myself agreeing with every word he says. He's probably my favorite modern lyricist, and his vocals are amazing. So breathy, almost like a pillow I could sleep on.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. It is so very INFJ to me. I do prefer the acoustic version though--it's a half step lower. I actually learned to play it on guitar which was no easy task. A damn shame about the singer.

I definitely know what you're talking about. My Bloody Valentine is an example for me.

I recently realized my love for them. I got their album Loveless a while back, played it occasionally, then I played it again and something just clicked inside me and I put it on repeat over and over and over. It's like my mind transposed into music.

(I'll refrain from posting the entire album.)
